I grew up without much — no money, no real food, just whatever was cheap and available. I got heavy. On January 1, 1998, my third semester of medical school, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. I pushed through — residency, fellowship, years of training — managing the disease while building a career in medicine.

Then a training partner in jiu-jitsu showed me a completely different way to eat. Everything changed — my weight, my blood sugars, my life. Around the same time, my wife Christina was building her own path in fitness and nutrition coaching, guiding clients toward real food and natural living. When we came together, we realized we were solving the same problem from two different directions — me from inside the operating room, her from inside the kitchen.

After losing my father to rectal cancer, I became a colorectal surgeon. Years of operating on devastating diseases showed me something simple — what we put in our bodies, on our skin, and in our water matters more than most people realize. No guarantees, no magic cures. Just a belief that going back to nature for solutions is better than trusting the industries that created the problems. Christina builds every product by hand in our studio on Long Island. Every single one exists because we saw something wrong and refused to ignore it.
